On November 20, the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) organized a Book Club session centred around If Cats Disappeared from the World by Genki Kawamura — a heartfelt and philosophical novel that examines life, loss, and the emotional value of everyday moments.
During the session, participants reflected on the author’s exploration of personal choices and the emotional consequences that follow. Discussions highlighted how the disappearance of simple, familiar objects can reshape one’s understanding of love, memory, and the meaning of life.
Interactive activities and thoughtful group dialogue created an engaging environment where students shared insights, interpretations, and even personal stories related to the book’s themes.
A special segment of the session included book giveaways for the most active and engaged participants, encouraging deeper participation and creating a memorable literary experience.
This event reinforced the LRC’s ongoing mission to strengthen reading culture and provide students with meaningful spaces for intellectual and emotional exchange.
